Key Brands Return to Interbike 2012
- Niner, Zoot Sports, Spy, Fox Head, and more return to show while major brands commit to expanded exhibit space -
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. – June 26, 2012 – Interbike announced today the return of a number of notable brands that had not been active at the show in a few years. Brands such as Niner, Zoot Sports, Fox Head, Spy, Envy Composites, Guru and more are back on the show floor with renewed interest in engaging the Interbike audience. A number of other key companies are returning as well and will be announced soon.
“At Niner we are very careful about selecting the right marketing events that best fit our company’s growth strategy. We’ve got a ton of innovation in the pipeline for 2013 and the energized atmosphere of Interbike makes it an ideal event for sharing these new products with our North American dealers as well as the media,” said Mike Gann, Niner’s Chief Operating Officer. “Last year was tricky for us to coordinate logistics with Eurobike and Interbike being so close together. This year’s dates made our decision to come back kind of a no-brainer.”
Additionally brands such as Easton Bell Sports, Electra, Specialized, Shimano, Serfas, and Highway 2 have all increased their space commitments at the show to support new initiatives and create more connectivity with retailers, distributors and media.
“We’ve increased our footprint on the show floor this year by almost 30% because Highway 2 has so much new product we’re rolling out and we need more room to meet with our most important customers.” said Selle Royal Group’s Andrew Herrick. “We found that last year’s booth, which we thought was large enough, was too small to comfortably welcome all of our dealer and international guests. We have one real shot per year to welcome the dealers into our world and share with them our vision for the coming season and Interbike is it. Furthermore we will continue our VIP tent at the Outdoor Demo and fizik and crankbrothers will have a strong presence there as always.”
More than 150 new exhibitors have already contracted to participate at the 2012 event and many will be showcased in the show’s new area called “The LAB”. The LAB will feature many prominent brands as well as new smaller companies that are looking to break through with the Interbike audience. Highlighting the list of new exhibiting brands is Opus Bicycles out of Canada, Teva, Inertia Racing Technology (IRT) and Kappius Components.
“2012 is shaping up to be the biggest Interbike show we’ve ever had”, said Pat Hus, Interbike’s Managing Director. “We have already well-exceeded last year’s show and we are on our way to our biggest footprint in years. I think it has a lot to do with the excitement we started last year, but clearly it is a reflection of how healthy our industry is right now. Not only are we getting great brands back and majors taking on more, but we are also seeing more new companies coming to the show for the first time in 2012.”
Interbike recently announced its plans to move the show to the Mandalay Bay Conference Center and Hotel (MBCC) for 2013, 2014 and 2015. More information on the MBCC and the 2013 event can be found on Interbike’s website at www.interbike.com/2013
