SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. – May 24, 2012 – Health+Fitness Business (HFB) today announced the decision to aggressively pursue the light commercial market for fitness equipment at the 2012 trade show in Las Vegas. The annual trade event has been the exclusive show focusing on home fitness equipment. Since the light commercial segment has become increasingly more important to both retail businesses and suppliers, transforming the show by combining both segments will increase the ROI for all involved.
“Our goal is to make HFB the one-stop-shop for home retail and light commercial equipment manufacturers and attendees,” said Pat Hus, HFB’s managing director. “Our exhibitors and attendees have both been asking for this for a few years and we are now in a great position to really go after the audience. Many of our exhibitors already bring their light commercial product to the show, but we want to encourage everybody to bring these products. We are confident with our partner exhibitors’ help we can attract the right audience.”
HFB recently partnered with industry veteran Therese Iknoian and created advisory panels of both retailers and exhibitors to pre-qualify the concept. Both advisory panels were supportive of the new direction and encouraged HFB management to pursue the new direction immediately.
“Given the residential landscape has changed so much over the last few years, we have enjoyed growth in the commercial and light commercial market arena,” said Ken Carpenter, Director of Sales at Sports Art Fitness. “We are pleased to see that HFB is expanding the value of the show by catering to this neglected and overlooked market segment.”
Darryl Dash of Dash Fitness in Virginia Beach, Virgina sees the light commercial market as one retailers should embrace and focus on. “The light commercial markets are always developing and growing. Whether it’s an apartment complex, corporate office facility or government bid, fitness is becoming an important niche for these non-traditional markets.”
Hus said HFB plans to offer incentives to existing exhibitors to showcase their light commercial equipment at the 2012 show. The company will be contacting exhibitors in the coming weeks to discuss how to accommodate additional needs and to address questions.
In 2012, the Health+Fitness Business Expo will return to Las Vegas, Nevada, in conjunction with the Interbike International Bicycle Expo on September 19-21 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. For more information about the show, visit www.healthandfitnessbiz.com.
